alright, no, you're nothing like the others, but it's --
don't touch when you're laced up in the velvet rope
diamonds!
65. Giorgio Moroder - Déjà Vu
Ppl did not really seem to like this? Sure it was very cheesy but I did get a lot out of it for a couple weeks there, Big Giorg' wrung a COUPLE of the best pop songs of the year out of guests both expected (Charli) and unexpected (Sia) then padded out the rest with stuff I definitely wouldn't complain about hearing at like my cousin's gay wedding in 1978.

64. Dawn Richard - Blackheart
There is a little bit of this anti-pop, 3artsy5me vibe running through parts of this album but at the same time it's nice to hear this kind of R&B music so packed with ideas. I just know she sees herself as A True Artist on a higher plane than everyone else in the universe but the pretension doesn't show too much throughout the music because it's rooted in real emotions with a spirit of adventure.

and just be careful if forgiveness can be found
the second time around
there's not a thing to bring you down
and don't you listen to your head when you're alone
63. Tobias Jesso, Jr. - Goon
One of those albums that's maybe just a little much all in one go, but if you segment it then I think every one of these songs has the potential to hit very hard depending on what state of mind you're in when listening. Very honest very straightforward, very Randy Newman. Honestly just looking them on paper, so many of the lyrics are not impressive of their own but he has this very unpretentious quality about it him that gives the music an appreciated realness + warmth. And a lot of it may be samey samey but don't miss out on the apocalypse narrative off Just a Dream, I think writing from somewhere outside of his own head is definitely gonna be his way to go from this point on.

62. Big Sean - Dark Sky Paradise
the transformation!! This mother****er really found himself as a presence behind the mic this year and ended up taking the jump from one of our most annoying rappers to someone I absolutely didn't mind sitting through a full album by. I mean I won't act like he's suddenly Ghostface Killah all up in here but in terms of flow, wordplay, topical diversity, really really good production I'm just so impressed, very much one of the best surprises of 2015.

world war can last forever
61. Autre ne Veut - Age of Transparency
There's no Play by Play this time around to keep this grounded for the TRL kids but in its place is a new kind of experimental pop music that'll give you back whatever you put into it. Very..personal, like sometimes to an uncomfortable extent but that's nothing new here.
