What most of ATRL does not realize is that sales do not equal impact, power, or legendary status. They are the FIRST to discredit Janet Jackson when she has 12 #1 singles, sold more albums than most of our favs, and directly influenced Britney Spears (the Queen of TRL, which spawned ATRL.)
It's quite comical. Sales only matter for that year or so, but Beyonce's impact and legacy has transcended her into a cultural icon - which is why people think she is a bigger "celebrity" than musician.
But at the end of the day, power is power. Beyonce understands this which is why she has sustained more longevity than all of her peers, despite selling less than many...

End thread.

Tay's career is at it's 9th year and is only showing growth.
Don't even try the longevity excuse.

Bey, the artist, debuted in 1997, you can't just exclude 5-6 years where she was exposed to the media/GP and act like she were a brand new artist in 2003.

Well for one Taylor and Adele are both the definition of safe
White with an extremely marketable sound and huge amounts of promotion
Also Beyoncé is a legend and debuted almost a decade before both so delete it fat

MDNA topped 50 with pre-orders (when there much less countries with iTunes) 29 years in and that doesn't make MDNA any kind of impactful success.

111 COUNTRIES what part are you missing? 111 countries with NO pre-orders, NO single, NO announcement, 800K+ in 3 days, the fastest selling album in iTunes history. 18 years in. No one has done it.
