The two deals have different stipulations. Pepsi did not sponsor MCWT, unless I'm mistaken.

It did. Her face being on the cans was promo to go to the website and win tickets. There was other sponsors too, though

This is a pretty bad move on her part. Basically Rihanna isn't going to make any money off this era because it'll all go back to Samsung so they'll recoup their money. Rihanna doesn't make that much money from her music to begin with (bc she doesn't write) so they're going to funnel money from the one place she can make money, the tour.
