I agree Spanish is far more beautiful on the ear (I personally find all Romance languages to be far more pleasant than any Germanic language) than English; however, English is far more complex. The countless amount of irregularities, inconsistencies and conundrums in the English language, alone -- exceptions to rules like "ie" vs "ei", loads upon loads of irregular verbs like fight/fought vs light/lit, pronunciation like rough = ruff but bough = bow yet through = throo and then all the silent letters -- k in knife, g in gnome and even pronouncing letters that aren't there like the imagined h in "Worcester", homophones like desert/dessert/desert, wound/wound, close/close and so on -- I honestly can't imagine English ever fully making sense to me if it wasn't my native language.
I really have to say I have a huge admiration for people that can master English as a non-native speaker/reader/writer. There are a lot of people even on here that I would never know weren't native English speakers given how perfect their English is and even the comfort with the colloquialisms and slang. It's highly commendable, really.
