Like I said, this isn't an issue. I wish people would stop finding little things to be upset at for a day and focus on more important issues
Also, Gregg is way too hot for Bella

people used to say that about slavery, that wasn't solved by looking away.

I would never let anyone use that word around me, even in jest. It's horrible. also you don't know if they're uncomfortable with you using it so don't.
Racism exists here just like it does in the U.S., just because they don't gun us down as often doesn't mean England (or Europe in general) is this utopia of racial equality.

plus black people just want to be offended by something all the time. Report me if you want but I really don't care, I am black. I know what the real issues are, and this isn't one of them.

For those who don't get it, let me educate y'all.
As we all know African Americans were once slaves. When we were slaves white people called us "n***ers to insult us.
Somewhere down the lines we turned that word into a term of endearment.
Now when white people say it, whether they mean to be offensive or not, it brings the word back to the origin meaning.
This is OUR word

I'm reacting to your stupid and pointless and petty and immature comment with pointless and petty and immature comment, since you are the one that needs to grow up and perhaps mature in the future, considering you think it's alright to say that word and there's no issue, because he's simply "too hot".
YOU are the one that needs to mature and grow up. Sch. Disgusting. Log out.

Around the world, virtually every white guy between the ages of 16 and 30 are using the n-word
in private with their friends. This is common knowledge. Don't believe them when they deny it.

this video was such a pain to sit through but interesting to know it's used in other places.

yes, but here it isn't very loaded like it is in the US. I think there's a rule that radio will play n***a but not n****r. n****r is seen as offensive but n***a isn't really. although you wouldn't say it around strangers in case they got offended.
|
if there is such a rule, can you find an article about it? that sounds odd, to allow the word n*gga on radio but ban n****r, since both entail the same meaning

How would you know if it's loaded or not? Are you black? I'm guessing not.
Don't speak about things you know nothing about.

what's your take on it then, since I assume you're black and from the UK (according to your location)?

I've read plenty. Doesn't change the fact that I am no less human than Gregg or any other white boy who uses the word privately or publicly. The Anglo-Saxons that enslaved African Americans are no longer here today, and while their legacy still lives on in the deep-rooted racism of America, a word that people use anyway isn't going to dehumanize me in the same way that being confronted by a cop - someone who actually holds power over me, power that was given to him by the government - would. I couldn't give any less ****s about the words people say. People are going to say what they want to say for the rest of their lives. I'm more focused on what people do.

People saying that slavery isn't an issue, a nationwide practice that involved inhumane punishment, unfairly compensated laborers, and dehumanizations of an entire culture of people is not comparable to a word with a "bad history" being used.

I know the word has stigma and history written all over it but why do people then think its appropiate to retaliate by calling us "pasty". I mean bitch you might not deem that offence but to many people that is just the same as saying the n-word as you are dissing a person based on their god damn skin-colour, sit down because you ain't doing yourselves no favours.

which is why in my first post I said you wouldn't just use it all willy nilly in case they got offended.
some (quite a few) black people here seriously don't care as long as it isn't mean as an insult, you aren't one of them, that's fine.

Racism overall needs to stop, I don't care if it's actions or it's words or anything, and if people like you will continue on saying that it's not an issue, it will just set an example to the future generation that racism is low-key alright and that the word doesn't have a terrible and dark history.

Him being hot isn't the reason I don't care. Even if he was ugly, I wouldn't care. It just so happens that someone who's hot is doing something I don't care about. Continue to act bothered about something that'll be forgotten in less than a week, though. :eyerolls:
Actions speak louder than words, and Gregg's actions have never indicated that he values black lives any less than others, and therefore I have no reason to believe his intentions for using the word were malicious.

it's about how the way society views 'simple race issues' has changed a lot, and will presumably carry on doing so.

the fact that y'all don't see a problem with him using the n-word and dating a 17 year old child because he's hot says a lot about the character of some of the people that post on here. we're all shallow to a degree, but y'all take it so far. a few months ago the same people were crucifying Tyga for the same thing

Pedophilia or paedophilia is a psychiatric disorder in which an adult or older adolescent experiences a primary or exclusive sexual attraction to prepubescent children, generally age 11 years or younger.[1][2] As a medical diagnosis, specific criteria for the disorder extend the cut-off point for prepubescence to age 13
