It's pretty well known she was kind of a diva on the Poetic Justice set, but I really don't hold that one against her given it was 1993. Back in that day the disease was still pretty new, as was the research on it and a lot of people didn't trust the info out about yet; people were paranoid and scared af.

It probably wasn't even her who asked for an aids test..I wouldn't be surprised if it was Rene who told producers to tell Tupac Janet wanted an AIDS test. He was insecure on set Janet admitted this and she said he didn't want her kissing Tupac. Rene also made Janet change her phone number after they finished filming and he found out Janet gave it to Tupac because they were friends and Janet was planning on hanging out sometime. Janet only ever said nice things about Tupac.

Either way it's offensive though.

I just think with Janet being such an activist for HIV/AIDS, donating to amFAR, and losing many friends to the illness, that she knows better. I feel like Rene had something to do with this. A lot was going on behind the scenes that we don't know about.

But this shouldn't have been public knowledge to begin with...and a test shouldn't have been offered to Tupac for just kissing. There's a low risk if the individual's viral load is high, they aren't on medicine, and they have abrasions...but it's still low risk.

It was 1993 and there wasn't even a treatment for HIV that worked back then. HIV peaked in 1994 much like Janet did.

Maybe a 0,005% percent of possibility.
