Congrats GAGA that album was truly an amazing piece. Correct me if I'm wrong, but an album can't be certified diamond WW right? Individual countries certify albums by its shipments. I am just curious because I never heard of an album being labeled diamond WW.

They might mean shipped, not sold.
She's at 7,769,000 according to worldwidealbums.net with her US The Fame Monster edition added in.

Mediatraffic are very close estimates though, a few hundred maybe a few thousand copies off at most. It's basically the difference between something like 6,532,789 and 6,533,112 which is almost no difference in the big scheme of things.

This really does make a lot of sense and it's a good ass point but sending out an extra 3 million copies is a bit much. That would be like Justin Beiber being certified for 4 million copies in the US just because he's sold 1 so far and is still selling.

There's no way for us to know how accurate the estimates are. We take their reliability for granted but we can't actually prove it because labels only ever give out shipments, not sales because there's no accurate way or knowing them.

3 months ago GaGa was presented with this plaque:
and everyone started saying it was wayyyyy overshipped because it was only at 6million on mediatraffic. A few months down the line and the album has me those shipments, and with it still selling and there being 3 more singles to impact yet then I'm comfident the album will reach 10,000,000 as well

I remember some people who said completely different in other occasions.... That Mediatraffic and WWA are the most accurate stuff and blah blah blah, trying to make things work for you...
Anyway, We already know it's shipped and selling or shipping 10 million won't really make a difference in our lives, the fans celebrate, the non-fans (or haters or whatever) simply forget it....

We use mediatraffic because there is no other way to evenly compare the sales of albums
And  @ passing off 10,000,000 as if it's some minor achievement.
Who else is doing it right now?

I did not say it was a minor achievement, if it sells 10 million (which might happen), it will be the first since 2007.... great... I just said that it won't make a difference in our lives, and that's true....
