This absolutely nails it. The lyrics say party but the production gives a very bittersweet sad feeling. I think the lyric/production incongruity is why the song hasn't taken off more. It leaves you feeling conflicted.

Ok at first I thought that the OP was trolling but I just realized how the song is melancholic and not about partying or a club banger, it's like reflective about how life is and by seeing the video you can notice how sad, melancholic Nicki gets when she sings The Night is still young it's like she knows that there is still hope for her and everyone, that there is still hope meanwhile we are alive

To be quite honest, I wouldn't label it as a sad song, but it really has some sad undertones.

There were times when I would actually tear up listening to the chorus of the song. I don't know why, but it's not really your typical fun pop song. I feel like it was written and made with so much depth that it shows throughout the song. Nicki must've been in a bad place or something, and this song was an escape.

I don't know, but that's how it feels like to me. An escape from bad things.
