Days on Chart: 12 Days
Peak Position: 01[2] | 90. Honor Society, "Where Are You Now?"
Release Date: July 21, 2009
Album: Fashionably Late
Honor Society enters the music scene this year with their teen pop hit, "Where Are You Now". The song was used in the film, "Bandslam". I personally love this song because of its catchy beat and it's easy to sing along with. The song reminisces memories from childhood, teenage years, and the things and persons they miss. |

Days on Chart: 18 Days
Peak Position: 04 | 89. Black Eyed Peas, "Boom Boom Pow"
Release Date: March 13, 2009
Album: The E.N.D.
Black Eyed Peas makes an impressive return in the music scene this year. The song topped the Hot 100 chart for 12 weeks, the group's first number-one. The song was widely used as a dance anthem here in the Philippines but I don't believe that it's a dance song. It's too boring for a dance hit. Plus, I believe that this is one of the most overrated songs this year. Their previous hits are definitely better than this. |

Days on Chart: 9 Days
Peak Position: 01[1] | 88. Black Eyed Peas, "I Gotta Feeling"
Release Date: June 15, 2009
Album: The E.N.D.
Black Eyed Peas scores a back-to-back entry on this set. The successor of "Boom Boom Pow" surpassed the success of its predecessor. The song topped the Hot 100 for a whopping 14 weeks. Like its predecessor, I find this song overrated and a bit boring. To clarify things, I don't hate Black Eyed Peas. I actually love them but their music nowadays isn't as impressive as the Elephunk and Monkey Business era. |

Peak Position: 01[2] | 87. Jesse McCartney f/ T-Pain, "Body Language"
Release Date: September 8, 2009
Album: Departure: Recharged
Jesse McCartney scores his final entry for this year with lead single off his re-released version of Departure. I didn't like this song at first but it definitely grew on me. I find the song catchy and upbeat. Jesse truly grows from being a teen pop artist to a mature pop/R&B artist. |

Days on Chart: 17 Days
Peak Position: 03 | 86. Kelly Clarkson, "Already Gone"
Release Date: August 11, 2009
Album: All I Ever Wanted
Ending this set is Kelly Clarkson with the third single off her albun, All I Ever Wanted. The song received significant airplays and massive success in radio stations here in the Philippines. Honestly, I think this song is overrated. Her previous ballads like "Because Of You", "Breakaway" and "A Moment Like This" are definitely better than this. This song is always compared to Beyoncé's "Halo". IMO, "Halo" is a million times better. |
