You're comparing a socialite to a singer and bringing up sales, do you not see the discrepancy? 
Becky G has higher album sales than Kim, is she more iconic?
This is about celebrity. Kim's celebrity is much bigger than Miley's. Kim is a defining part of this decade's pop culture landscape—Miley might be mentioned if we did an in-depth look at pop culture in 2013. Kim wins. It's that simple!

It's not about celebrity, it's about who is more iconic.  The only 'iconic' thing to Kim's career is her celebrity and the only thing you can bring up since her first (and last) attempt at a singing career went horribly south. As a celebrity, Miley had the bigger peaks. As a career in whole, Miley has a way bigger one.
5 pages and still the only thing is "Kim wins cause she just does." There's no facts to back it up because whenever you do, bring them up, Miley takes her.

some embarrassing local sextape (which paris already did first) is not iconic, no. Party in the usa is iconic.
Miley is bigger, more global and more iconic, simple as that

The fact that Kim is a bigger celebrity, has been a bigger celebrity, and will continue to be a bigger celebrity makes her more iconic. Miley Cyrus as a celebrity is not memorable in the grand scheme of pop culture. One big event (VMAs 2013) does not make someone memorable as a celebrity overall, which is what this thread is asking. Britney Spears also had a memorable VMA moment, but that alone does not make her memorable. The combination of her hits, her memorable performances, her breakdowns, and her overall media presence makes her iconic. Her celebrity in general is iconic. Her NAME is iconic.. Miley simply doesn't have that. Kimberly DOES.
Also, we've already established that Miley has not had the bigger peaks. Or the longevity. How many years has Miley outranked Kim on the most searched celebrities list?

Yep, it was established that more people searched the name Miley Cyrus than Kim Kardashian in its peak
Again, no facts. Just voicing your opinion that Kim is more memorable because "ICONIC, she just IS!" Miley doesn't just have the VMAs to her name. She has Wrecking Ball, a huge video that spawned parodies (Anne Hathaway just last month getting 25 million views for her lip-sync performance), art displays, and costumes. Hannah Montana which was so huge it influenced almost every show on Disney that came after it with kids wanting to sing + become popular. Party in the USA, a song that is charting higher on iTunes right now than any other top 10 song released in 2009. Was credited for getting 'twerk' added into the dictionary. Has the most tweeted about performance in history. Had a study done on her by Harvard and a class taught solely about her. But of course, all this doesn't matter because 'asfsdsfff Kim will be more remembered in 20 years! Miley, just a popstar, celebrity & stuff ' or some other deluded argument you've thought up.

Anyway, the simple fact is that Miley isn't even mentioned when people discuss who the most famous people in the world are. She had her big peak in 2013, but since then, she hasn't been too relevant in pop culture, and as a celebrity in general, she really isn't it. All the iTunes and VEVO stats really doesn't change anything. I'm sorry that bothers you so much!
