I 100% believe this but Tidal is a mess on their own.
Free concerts, free tickets, indie movies and so on? Yes. Exclusive music on an app with less than a million subscribers? Nope. They are sabotaging their owners with that exclusive mess. They better not mess up Bey next era because I will drag them!
Most people were over the fact that it took so long for American oxygen to be on iTunes they didn't care anymore. Once you past the time of the impulse to buy it and it's already illegally downloaded, no one will buy it.
If this is true, Bey better stick to singing videos and bts clips. Music vids are okay too... Just no singles or albums! I don't think TIDAL is solely to blame for AO tho. There are several factors as to why that isn't doing so good rn.
This. I'm starting to wonder if the joint album won't be released as a mixtape.
I wouldn't be surprised if it was true, Apple is not playing around. But the sabotage isn't the sole reason of Tidal "slow" start, it's messy
"Meanwhile, another source confirmed Kondrk’s threat that Tidal artists would not promoted on iTunes: “That is normal operating procedure. If an artist chooses to market content exclusively with another rival retailer, no company is going to market or push content from that artist that hard.”
Nothing controversial here, just sounds like Apple understands sensible business practices

Rihanna has used repressed releases plenty of times in the past and she's been very successful with them, often going #1.
LOL I'd Love to see the numbers and chart positions of Spotify and Pandora from their first 3 weeks on the market versus Tidal. I'm sure they weren't deemed flops in less than a month on the market.
As far as Rihanna, Rihanna doesn't have the same team she's had for previous albums. She no longer has the def jam machine picking out hit songs for her anymore. With or without Tidal these songs are not connecting and they would've underperformed or flopped regardless.
She's been away for over 2 years and there is really no buzz or anticipation for her album outside of her fans. She's not the type of artist that should take long periods of time between her albums. Radio has moved on to the other it girls. Taylor has Pop on lock. Beyonce & Nicki have Urban and Rhythmic by the balls. B has charted 6#1's on that format in the last year or so. Where does Rihanna Fit? Her songs don't even have that usual climb to #1 on Itunes like usual. It's not because of Tidal.
She's on single #3 already and there's not even a release date. Her new "label" (if you want to call it that) or imprint is in charge of her music and career. If her fans want to be mad at anyone it should be them because not only is the music subpar, they have no earthly idea what they're doing. This is seriously one of the most sloppiest roll outs for an album by an artist of Rihanna's caliber i've ever seen.
Horrible comparison.
When Spotify and Pandora appeared streaming was not popular, it was a digital download market.
