They seem to be on an increase trend. I wonder how big the next one will be. Already so much hype for the big 5-0! Too bad Bey can't do it again!

They literally predicted this year would be a record high. They even said that at the press conference thing
Ratings seem to improve every year tho

!
It's hard for the gays to understand that people actually tune into a sporting event to watch the game, not a 13 minute distraction.

You've got to be kidding me. Check your sources please.
-In the week before the Super Bowl (ending Jan. 27), their (Destiny's Child) combined album sales were just 7,000. A week later (ending Feb. 3), they moved 20,000.
- In terms of song download sales, Beyonce and Destiny's Child sold a combined 280,000 downloads (up 68%) for the week ending Feb. 10. Comparatively, in the week ending Jan. 27, they sold 72,000. A week later, they jumped to 167,000.
- Individually, Beyonce's albums sold 15,000 in the week ending Feb. 10 (up 62% from 9,000) while Destiny's Child's moved 13,000 (up 21% from 11,000)
In comparison with Madonna:
- A year ago, in the first week after the Super Bowl, 2012 halftime performer Madonna saw her album sales dip to 22,000 (down from 26,000 the week of the game).
You're really trying it.

The year Bey performed the game was already down 2.7 million views from the previous year.if you really want to know how successful a halftime show is you would go by the avg views.

Katy's halftime is already more successful, it's more talked about, the GP is buying her songs and albums and she didn't need the Stan hype to do it

If Katy's ratings are bigger then the game this will be a messy thread lol.
A lot of people tuned into the Superbowl just to watch Madonna the ratings spiked during her performance.
This game was really good so I bet the numbers remained pretty close throughout the program.

Tom Brady now has most career passes, completions, passing yards and TDs in Super Bowl history - as well as most completions in SB game.
What history did Katy make? Best produced Half Time show? Ain't no one gonna remember a smiling beachball over Legend Brady.

I was referring to the sales of a individual album, the highest resulted in 2K

Katy headline the most expensive Super Bowl ever, the previous was in 2005, the receipts speak for themselves

Her whole discography is discounted. No one would need stan hype to sell with those prices.
And how can Katy's performance already be more successful and talked about? Such a weirdo. It's only been a day.

Why is everything a competition for you?
Can't you enjoy something without thinking in your head: I liked this one because it was more successful than the other one.

Beyoncé's record sales saw a huge rise after her performance. Isn't that what it's all about?

Beyonce's discog was discounted too.
From BB:

The album sales gains are also aided by discount pricing in both the iTunes and Amazon MP3 stores. The former discounted key earlier titles from Beyonce and Destiny's Child to $7.99 while the latter marked them down to between $5 and $7.99.

Y'all really sound stupid arguing over ratings for pop stars. Like, do y'all realize how foolish y'all sound?

I can't believe that haters are actually entering this thread trying to come for Katy.
She simply slayed the competition, that's all there is to it.

Without the 50%+ discount, her albums would not have been as high. Basically, you can double Bruno's, Bey's and Madonna's sales numbers after the Super Bowl since they did not put their solo albums on discount before and after the Super Bowl.

On the topic of Beyoncé, that catapulted her into everyone generalizing her as a "Queen" and "God." Ratings and sales don't matter when it cements your status as a legend in music.

Chh... you say it as if Bruno brought in 115 million viewers himself compared to 111 million fans that watched for the game. Last years game was watched by 111 million, that just means Bruno brought in 4 million. I hope that is not what you meant. I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt.
