From a quality point YES from a marketing point the timing is excellent.

GOYK has a better chance to smash because:
1. It's a better song, obviously
2. It's not generic & dated
3. It has a feature, a big one at that
4. GOYK might have at least some Urban appeal because of the verses & the dark feel to it
code word, though: MIGHT.

The lies you tell.
1. GOYK is overrated and missing a few elements...try hard and Nicki's verses leave much to be desire
2. GOYK is not generic but not amazing either
3. Yeah which would be great for the summer. BBMAs The night is still young performance VMAs Get on your knees
4. More Pop and RHy and slight urban but more rhythmic
So yeah

Girl stop. Ariana's song will be released in the summer. Don't fret.

Yeah, GOYK is too much for pop radio. Even though songs like S&M can smash pop radio, GOYK is much more... direct. I assume it's the same reason Partition didn't hit on pop radio last year.
This song is her best option on pop, so good choice.

True but that's ALSO a reason to put The night is still young out first so that top 40 warms up to her again (I'm talking top 10 and not a song that most would mistake that she's featured on) then release GOYK building off the hype of TNISY
Makes sense to me...
She just has to figure out her urban singles at this point
