Billboard article on possible digital sales:
A number of hotly anticipated songs saw their digital release on Tuesday, Aug. 11 and will impact the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart next week.
Miley Cyrus' new "Party In The U.S.A." could sell at least 200,000 downloads by week's end, while Jay-Z's all-star collaboration with Rihanna and Kanye West on "Run This Town" may sell between 150,000 and 170,000.
For Cyrus, the powerful sales figure will push her to a possible a top five debut on the Billboard Hot 100 next week. If she manages that, it'll be her highest bow ever on the chart -- beating the No. 6 entry of "The Climb" on March 21.
The good news for Cyrus doesn't stop there: she's also featured on the new Disney Friends for Change charity single "Send It On." The tune boasts Cyrus, Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez and Jonas Brothers.
"Send It On" hit digital retailers on Aug. 11 as well and could shift 70,000 to 85,000 downloads. If it sells that much, Cyrus may find herself with a pair of top 30 debuts on the Hot 100 next week.
For Jay-Z, "Town's" big number will most likely send the single flying into the top 10 on the Hot 100. This past week, the tune jumped from No. 88 to No. 66. If it swoops into the top 10 next week, it will be Jay's 15th top 10 hit, and the 11th each for both Rihanna and West.
And finally, it's almost certain that two long-standing Hot 100 records will be broken next week.
Jason Mraz's "I'm Yours" is on course to spend its 70th week on the chart, setting the record for the longest run in the chart's 51-year history. This week, "Yours" tied with the current record-holder, LeAnn Rimes' "How Do I Live."
Additionally, the Black Eyed Peas will probably find itself again at No. 1 for an eighth week with "I Gotta Feeling." The Peas replaced itself at No. 1, after a 12-week run atop the list with "Boom Boom Pow." Thus, one more week in the lead next week will lift the Peas into an unprecedented 20-week streak at No. 1 on the Hot 100. Right now, the Peas are tied with Usher's 19-week monopoly of the No. 1 slot back in 2004. Usher strung together 19 straight frames at No. 1 with "Yeah!" and "Burn."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It seems like two records will be broken next week!

Ugh at Miley I hope top 5 is all she gets cuz she sure as hell don't deserve to be #1 let alone top 5. Yay for Jay-Z, Rihanna and Kanye starting out in the top 10 and this is only the beginning the soon will dominate the top spot with the video coming next week and promo coming and J will have his very first number 1 single! Also congrats to BEP for the new record they made but I hope as much as I love them I hope we get a new #1 soon!

Carrie's Before He Cheats went to #8 also or is that more country pop? I wish it woulda gone to #1 tho it is her best song and video ever! Taylor is so ****ing overrated her music is boring as hell yet people download her songs like crazy and say she is beautiful while she isn't ugly she is not beautiful. Carrie owns her ass in singing live cuz she actaully sounds like how she does in song unlike Taylor whose voice sounds like **** in her songs and live and Carrie is FAR more hotter than Taylor. Sorry to Taylor fans but it's true she's overrated.

I agree with everything you sad.
"Before He Cheats" is amazing and it owns every Taylor song.
And as much as I love Taylor, she's really weak vocally, while Carrie has a bombastic voice, she can sing almost every song.
And I love them both, and I think that Taylor is a better songwriter, while Carrie is a way better singer.
I think Carrie should get more in the writing process though.
And Carrie is way hotter than Taylor.
Taylor is cute, but not hot.

A) The 2 Faith Hill songs were released before 2001, so no.
B) Before He Cheats at no. 8 is below the lowest song I posted, so no.
C) Erm, I know that Not Ready to Make Nice peaked at no. 23 at first and only made it to no. 36 on country radio. Then when Grammys rolled around it got downloads to get to no. 4, but its country radio peak was no higher. I dunno, it seems more of a digital hit than a country hit. Actually, it peaked higher in adult contemporary...

Overrated is not a fact. Overrated is a state of opinion. Learn the difference between facts and opinions before your post like that, please. Now on to the rest of the post.
The reason Carrie's singles don't chart higher, is because they don't cross over. Now, if her label were to at least giver her songs pop adds dates, then she could have a shot. Here's a tidbit, "Before He Cheats" never had a pop adds date. It crossed over of sheer luck, which propelled it into the top ten on the Hot 100. Country doesn't move sales like pop songs. To the general pop listener, they only see Carrie as a one hit wonder with "Before He Cheats." To the general country listener, Carrie is a mega star with tons of hits. Country moves album sales very well, explaining Carrie's great sales numbers, but it fails to move digital sales, which is a big factor in the Hot 100. Taylor Swift, however, does send her songs to pop (with most usually, a remix) and they end up charting well over on pop. Thanks to being released to pop, her songs chart higher on the Hot 100. Carrie needs to send her songs to pop if she wants her songs to chart higher on the Hot 100. Does she need remixes like Taylor? No, but she needs to at least give the songs adds date for pop. You know they would do very well. "So Small" peaked right under the top 50 without one. "Last Name" peaked in the top 80 without one. She obviously has pop appeal, but she's not going to have very many crossovers without pop adds dates. Taylor moves digital sales thanks to her crossing over to pop. She has both the general country and pop listeners into her music. So they'll download it once it's out.
Can't give you any input on the hottest/ugliest comments. That's another opinionated statement. There's not fact to that. Come on, we all learn this in third grade.

I totally agree.
And I think too that Carrie is a big country star and definitely bigger than Taylor, as much as I love her.
Taylor is a crossover star, and Carrie is a true country star.
Taylor had 15 songs charting on country (8 officially released to country), 4 #1 country singles, 7 top 3 singles, and 8 top 10 singles, which is pretty good, but compared to Carrie...
Carrie had 20 songs charting on country (9 officially released to country), 7 #1 country singles and only her two singles peaked at #2, so her every single ever released to country peaked in the top 2.
And the only thing Taylor might be better than Carrie in is songwriting, though we don't really know that, cause Carrie just started involving in the songwriting process, and every song she co-wrote so far is amazing.
Anyway, I love them both, but Carrie is better IMO.
And not to say that critics praised "Carnival Ride" as one of the best country albums ever and said it was the best country album since "Come on Over".

I understand that, but you can't come up in here and say Taylor Swift is overrated and then call that a fact when it's one hundred percent opinion.
