Bey is the most interesting case here. Although DIL was close... It was almost lucky to peak as high as it did. It wasnt really a huge pop hit. And before that, she hadnt seen the top 10 in forever.

Nevertheless, I dont doubt Bey's potential to release a mainstream smash at any time in the next 5 years. Whether it will actually happen though...

Anyone who followed popular music last decade knows that Bey used to do 10x more promo than whatever she does these days. I don't think there was a single year in the 00s when she wasn't working and out promoting an album, single, movie, product, etc.

So it's not really hard to see that her little efforts, apart from touring, have been more "lazy" as of late. I think it's impressive that she still has decent album sales despite her lack of recent hits, especially when compared to the peers of her era. Pink is the only one from that time still slaying on all fronts so...

Beyoncé for sure. she just doesn't appeal to the younger audience anymore. That's not a bad thing but they are usually the ones who are quick to snatch a single and make it #1.
