I really like this countdown so far, shic!
You've got a great selection of k-pop so far. Here's hoping "Something" being eliminated means the superior "Something" has a place!
30. Chris Brown - Loyal (feat. Lil Wayne & Too $hort) from X
"These hoes ain't loyal"
Despite my personal discomfort of Chris, this song was irresistible
"These hoes ain't loyal" might also be my favourite quote of the year
29. Block B - JACKPOTfrom HER
"Those oppas are weird"
Block B successfully tones down their "bad boy" image with smoother and vibrant colors.
28. Charli XCX - Boom Clapfrom Sucker
"Boom clap The sound in my heart, the beat goes on and on and on and on and"
Thanks to the exposure from Fancy, Charli was given the perfect opportunity to introduce herself to the public.
Bringing forward this super infectious pop track indeed was a great idea.
27. High 4 & IU - Not Spring, Love, or Cherry Blossomsfrom HI HIGH
"Everyone but me is in love, singing spring songs"
IU takes full control of the song as a featured artist.
IU was 100% responsible for this upcoming spring classic being a hit
26. Sam Smith - Reminds Me Of Youfrom In The Lonely Hour
"But each time I do, it only reminds me of you"
Full of soul and despair

Album #7
AKMU - PLAY
Apr.7.2014
Winners of KPOP STAR S2 and after numerous hits pre-debut, AKMU finally brought us a full-length album.
First off, I can't believe a 18 year old boy was capable of producing and writing such magic. Also, despite being only 15, Suhyun puts other girls to shame by singing her lungs out.
The magic of this album was that even though it was written with a teenage sensibility, it is all so relatable to everyone and just listening to this album makes me smile.
10/10 debut effort.
I'm not really introduced to kpop, jpop and other kinds of Asian music, thus I cannot comment on that, but I really like "Reminds Me of You". In fact, the entire album is overfilled with strong material. <3
I've already said a couple of times what I think of "Boom Clap".
As for "Loyal", I can't say that I like it.., nor hate it.
Wait @ "Reminds Me of You". It's literally amazing, I'm so glad other people are into it, too!
The vocal manipulation in the chorus (the you, you, you, you section) sounds quite polarising. I personally love it, but I completely understand why other people would hate that part as well.
You've got other great choices too, but I was most surprised with Sam. "Loyal" has me so conflicted. It's a jam, but I hate the lyrics so much. The sonic value of the song though (production, vocals) outweigh the lyrics, which kept me playing it all year. So easy on the ear and drills into your mind.
