Ummmmmmmmmm anything popular is pop music, but with Nicki at LEAST she raps and appeals to broader audiences while merging hiphop and elements from pop music. Nelly, Lil Wayne, Drake, Big Sean, Lil Kim, Missy Elliot, Azealia Banks, Timbaland, etc...all did some form of pop music but kept their hiphop roots. Because "being a white girl from Australia" with a big ass and a popular male black rapper to back you might I add... is a lot more of a help than a hindrance in mainstream hip hop. As far as her look, she's been something different and I think that her success has had a whole lot more to do with that than it has with her actual rapping talent. That brings us back to why a lot of people have a problem with her.
