How does it not apply to us if our children are being forced to recite these references to YOUR God, with the only other alternative being to opt out and be outcasted and ridiculed for it?
As an aside, I wonder how people would feel if things like "One nation under Allah" and "In Allah we trust" were being proposed and, in whatever hypothetical political climate we were in, had a serious chance of passing into law. I suspect the same people saying "you can ignore it if it doesn't apply to you!" would be crying just as loud if not louder given their track record
