Discussion: Why isn't P!nk considered the Queen of Pop?

Speaking about risk taking, P!nk took more risks with her first record than some of your boring one dimensional repetitive ugly faves will ever do.
Gotta love how ATRL talks about their faves like they are some kind of super talented, groundbreaking, risk taking pop stars.

i think when it comes to music, she just likes every genre because her voice just fits everywhere. jazz, soul, rock, rnb, pop, etc. she might have been a little too comfy with the poprock sound as of late, but she will be back with other sounds i'm sure. she still wants to record her selfish acoustic rock record, and if you listen to her acoustic songs, free and when we're through, you know that it will be amazing.
she's like the soulful rock folk singer who's stuck in the pop world.

I like P!nk, and agree with everything you said here, I was just stating why she isn't considered iconic by the GP. Hopefully she will progress artistically, because pop-rock is starting to sound outdated and overheard.

And calling ARTPOP experimental. Let's not.

ARTPOP is experimental, it isn't the same **** produced by Max Martin/Dr. Luke with the same beat and the same chord progression

She's not memorable, does not take risks and is not global enough.

Her genre isn't typical of her, there are many other pop-rock artists, her acrobatics are, but they are only discussed for a few days when they occur, and aren't enough to build a solid status.

Glitter in the Air was LAUDED on American Idol in early 2014. BYE.

Anyways, Her discography is full of generic Pop/Rock songs and lacks any other genre experimentation. That's it.

Her first album was R&B

What's the point of being experimental when no one acknowledges it?

Hmm, let me go listen to some of her last albums so I can come back and clock.
It's been a minute.

And the same song being discussed 2,5 years after its release on The View, where Whoopi said she makes intelligent pop music.

So if it's not Max Martin, it's experimental?
It's experimental for Gaga but overall nothing new. There might be some songs which are different and sounds interesting but as a whole it's still a normal dance/pop record.

i think her glitter in the air performance alone was considered iconic by oprah and so many other media personalities (not to mention people who've seen it on TV). and that's just for that performance alone. i guess the GP very much follows her music and respects her. it's just that ATRL doesn't... and honestly, i am very okay with that.

Max Martin did only 1 song on her latest album and it wasn't even a single
I don't know about Dr Luke but pretty sure she works with Billy Mann & Butch Walker most

Crazy in Love, Single Ladies. Drunk in Love? I guess you would upset the OP with these claims.

The hostility
It's the truth. Even Katy has experimented with different sounds like trap with 'Dark Horse'. All Pink has done for the last 10 years is release the same repetitive generic product. And the worst part is she does all this unknowingly and continues working with Dr Luke/Max Martin and that is why she'll never be a legend. Like Cyndi Lauper Pink will be known for her talents and flair and her 1 or 2 memorable hits (whatever her memorable hits are because I can't even remember them)
