OMG! I didn't know that this was too old! already a decade wooow I can still call a new member because I discoverd ATRL in 2007 and I instantly became a member but yeah I like this forum it's pretty addictive too me because during this 2 almost 3 years that i've been over here I constantly post and I check it like everyday this has been the forums that I most like and that I always visit (after the MTVLA forums in past years) also hopefully I've been here more years to come! It doesn't matter that most of the time they all bash my idol XD
HAPPY 10 YEARS to ATRL! and wish 10000000000 years to come.
want to see all surprises because also the decade is ending!!!

Let me intercept Joe here, and tell you that from what I remember, those "events" weren't really talked about in depth? Besides the Blackout LMAO!

I was here for 9/11, and I can remember seeing the forum almost stop, in a way, because a lot of people, myself included, were focused on 9/11.
It went back to normal really soon after that, but, out of everything that has ever happened on ATRL, that's one of the few things from the pre-2002 era that I remember, even somewhat.

I don't even think there were forums to discuss Y2K at the time.

Happy 10th anniversary and I joined in July 2007, just before TRL's final decline.
Then as 2007-2008 came along, I then became the recap poster for TRL, VH1 Top 20 (on a rotational basis between Me, Brandon, and Cloud), MTV2's Subterranean, SRTD, and HBB, MuchMusic Top 30, 106 and Park (until someone else can take over), and more recently, CMT Top 20 (to fill-in for Jeremy). In addition, I have become the adds director for all the networks (Fuse, MTV/MTV2/mtvU/MTVH/MTVJ, VH1/VH1 S, CMT, BET, MM), the backup playlist poster and Top 20 voting list poster to Luis for VH1, and started the Fuse, Subterranean, HBB, and mtvU threads. I made the VH1 Top 20 recaps separate from the main thread.
Also, I have been the scorekeeper... starting w/ Thursday TRL duties, but as 2007 ended, I became the main scorekeeper. Each year that I took over, I made some key changes to the scoring rules, such as 2x/Nothing (deducted if wrong), introduced the 106 and Park p/ds, and made the VH1 Top 20 p/ds weekly (something that should've been done at least 4 years ago, but now it's fixed.).
As for countdowns, I started 15Rock (known as DRVC until December 2007) when I first started and JRL came just a week after TRL's switch in format. The music tastes on JRL, although featuring most of the ATRL faves (Xtina, PCD, Mariah, Brit, Madonna, etc...), also tapped into the previously minor noticed Hot AC/AC format (Sara Bareilles, Colbie Caillat, Eric Hutchinson, OAR, Gavin Rossdale, etc...), gave VH1 YOK artists exposure (Bareilles, Caillat, Hutchinson, Gabriella Cilmi, Carolina Liar, etc...), and the rock favorites (Weezer, Metallica, A7X, Foo Fighters, The Offspring, Atreyu, Metallica, The Bravery, Staind, Oasis, Slipknot, Linkin Park, Korn, Paramore, FOB, MCR, Coldplay, Snow Patrol, Hollywood Undead, etc...). Even the super-indie bands got exposure on both countdowns, such as The National and The Duke Spirit.

Congrats ATRL. I can't believe I've been here for a great majority of that time (lurked for a lot of 2001 and joined in 2002)
Things I'll Remember:
Jamie: celebrity DJ extrordinaire, he hooked us up with many celebrity chats! (Anastacia!!) He also released groundbreaking CDs!
Fantasy Billboard: Damnit, I loved it.
King Jase: When Jase took over the board, it served as inspiration for my many staged take overs. Zephyr's ATRL. I think I still have some PMs people sent me during that week or so.
ATRL High: The original, not the CWish remake that I'm sure went nowhere. Melissa probably brought upon the surge of ATRL Shows.
ATRL AIM Chats: I'd spend a lot more time than I would like to admit in those chats. They were so entertaining though.
Personalities that have come and gone.
Fonzo's Aguilera Dictatorship: There was a point in time when being a Britney fan pretty much blacklisted you. The Britney vs. Christina battles were quite hilarious.

These topics did exist, as for today, we cant really access them because up until about 2006-2007 we had a very limited server. So rather than be forced to upgrade we were forced to delete posts, what we did was delete inactive threads. Threads that did not have posts within the last 60-90 days were deleted from the system. So many of those threads weren't terribly popular threads only sometime less than a hundred replies, so they went the way of the chopping block. But we no longer have that problem, our server here has a 100GB hard drive that is only used for this board, and the website it self. We have no limit on how many posts we can handle so from now on we will just continue to keep the posts.

LFRRRRR .Oh man, I remember King Jase. Zephyr's ATRL really was a direct ripoff of the original.
ATRL High, to me, was the peak of ATRL. It was when ATRL was at its very best, with the smartest members, the funniest members, and, yes, the dumbest members. Mel conveyed all of that perfectly. The only shows that I think were better were the ones done by Kworb and PDP. They had ****ing talent.
The AIM chats are self-explanatory.
Fantasy Billboard was, without a doubt, the most fun I've ever had on these forums. Some of the crap that we came up with was just ridiculous. Remember WJ and Micah's "rap off" on FBRL? Probably the most unintentionally hilarious moment in ATRL history.
Oh, and let me use this space to pay tribute to the SBAs, the show that made it possible for the RMAs to exist, to begin with.
