Exactly! And even other things like C-pop, different European styles specific to smaller countries, and commercial music from less prevalent markets could see great benefits from a fully globalized market.
Albums usually leak the Wednesday before release though, I don't see what Australia or Friday has to do with it...

but releasing an album everywhere in the same day would indeed make it stop

Friday probably comes from an expectation that Bey's weekend release was a factor in her great debut sales. Australia as I take it is a hotbed of piracy, but let's be real - so is the rest of the world!

Albums leak all the time because stores are usually sent the physical copies a week prior to the release date.
Unless, you mean albums leaking months in advance... Still, that happened to 4 and then Ciara (but that's because it was uploaded ot a store and it was ripped quickly.)
