It is for her. And she wasn't referring only to an acoustic album, she said she'd like to explore multiple different genres.

Prism does have a lot of variety in terms of influences. Dark Horse is hip-hop, Birthday is disco, Legendary Lovers is ethnic, Choose Your Battles is rock, Walking on Air is dance, there's a few electronic songs and a few ballads. Pretty varied if you ask me, it's not like she made an entire album of EDM music ![@michael.](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/korn0818/ATRL_Smilies_All/atrlers/micheal_zps45ccf519.gif)

She sound more and more like the crazy deluded Lady Gaga. Gaga pushed boundaries and look how Artpop perfomed.

lmao at people saying that PRISM doesn't show variety. BISH PLEASE.
Sure, we've seen the whole Roar, Birthday thing, but that's just one side.
This Moment, Ghost, Love Me, and the deluxe tracks have definitely unearthed a more genuine, adult, positive side of her.
It's very sonically diverse, even if some tracks do sound similar to each other.
People are so pressed over an interview. But I love it. She has a plan, and she's here to stay.
And she ain't given no deluded Gaga teas. She said she doesn't care about the charts in the long run and she's not treating herself nor her material as the second coming. lbr. She's very in touch with the industry and her own goals.

I want to maybe break the ideas of what boundaries pop stars should be in, you know?

Really curious as to what she thinks will achieve this...

I want to do an acoustic record and do a tour that's all theaters and just have my acoustic guitar and my Telecaster and people would be like, 'What the ****?' I'm waiting to play that ace in a couple of years and it will be so exciting
|
.
...because this isn't it. Doing an album of Thinking of You's (and that one when she was old) is just pop without the synths.
"Ace".

Yeah, ok. Prism is so different.

Prism is more about showing the variety I have as an artist, rather than always having a determined goal to go to Number One or whatever.

Variety?
Well, at least she basically admitted TD was an intended #1 haul.

Y'all don't get it, do you? She's young, pretty, and has appeal right now. Who wouldn't capitalize on that?
She does try very hard to promote and get her music out there.
She's saying in 10-15 years, when the wrinkles start setting in, when she can't fit into her costumes anymore, she won't be chasing the charts anymore because she understands she will have lost some appeal. She doesn't want to be Madonna in that aspect, but she does want to be like Madonna in having a long, successful career.

here's what she said:
Quote:
Time is the truth-teller of all things, and when anybody has a misconception of me, I'm just like, I don't have to prove anything to you now. I'm just going to let time be the truth-teller. We'll see. We'll see!
|
All I have to say, after being a fan for over four years, I know that Katy is not messing around when it comes to her career. She always has a north star, and a vision. She will be in this business for a long time; her relentless work ethic, drive, and sheer talent that got her to this point isn't leaving anytime soon. It's the reason why she is on top. And it will be the reason why she will be remembered twenty years later. She has a plan and she will execute it. She isn't afraid of flopping either.
For y'all who think I"m being delusional, time will tell! ![Alexz 2](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/korn0818/ATRL_Smilies_All/atrlers/alexz2_zps7d3bf068.gif)

OH really? Tell me, what popstars have successfully gone from bubblegum to acoustic folk/pop successfully, while still appearing authentic and interesting?
I'm not talking about some quick acoustic remix, hunny.
As far as I know, Katy could be one of the first ones to successfully do this. Coupled with her instrumental and songwriting talent, she has already shown her versatility.
She's even laid the foundation for this happening in the future. It's common knowledge among Katycats that her best work is reflected acoustically. So when she's done with the synths, she'll still have appeal with her fans. Smart lady.
I don't understand. If people aren't going to do anything but criticize and make poor points, why come in here?
