I'm confused.
Should I listen to the countless legends and artists who have praised her talents...or a forum stan who got so worked up that they couldn't even write in coherent English? I apologise if it's not your native language, but regardless - what are your credentials exactly?
Gaga is both underrated and overrated, depending on who you ask. This falls into the former category.

Well, I mean, it's not like she has lost her talent. Has Madonna lost her talent when MDNA underperformed? Has Katy lost her talent when Uncle and Birthday underperformed and now TIHWD is struggling? Has Gaga lost her talent when ARTPOP underperformed?

Because ARTPOP is sonically dated. If it came out in 2012 or 2011, this would not even be said as the album would be in line with what the trend that was going on. But alas, it still has the same metacritic score as your fave latest album. One that is in trend, but panned as being predictable. Ooops.

i'm sure writing this made you feel smart and like you have a big vocabulary, but these arguments are paper-thin.
1. wow, because pop singers are apparently comparable to broadway vocalists. blah blah blah range blah blah musical terms blah blah, her voice sounds powerful and that's what matters to pretty much everyone except you.
2. i highly doubt gaga is insecure about her talents because she tries to present herself as talented. isn't that what famous people do??? because, you know, you want to look good?? you keep finding excuses to be condescending, though.

ugh, i am so tired of this stupid mindset that metaphors are god's gift to writing or something. some people write in a more literal and direct style. and that's okay. styles besides the ones used in acclaimed works have value. direct writing gets points across and expresses emotion just as well as metaphorical writing, and that's what matters. and that applies to gaga's other songs too - she gets her points across and has some clever lines/wordplay in it. that doesn't sound like bad songwriting to me.
4. "One may argue to say we only perceive it as such cause we don't understand it but honestly can you read a Gaga song and say that's something you could call a work of a even decent writer if she wasn't where she is? You wouldn't."
because everyone judges writing the exact same way that you do.
5. no, playing an instrument is impressive. it takes time and effort. it is a talent and something she had to put work into. you tried.

The fact that the GP thinks she's talented doesn't guarantee that they'll anything she releases even if they don't like it. Talent doesn't equal sales.
