I was referring to the video where people are cheering the death upon others. I was saying how both sides are wrong in that respect.

Who is being coerced and beaten?  Israel moved out of Gaza in 2005. Today Israel supplies all of Gaza's electricity and a majority of medical supplies. So I'm not sure what you mean there. It's easy to spin the "Gaza is a prison" line.
Also, what choice does Israel have other than violence? How else will the rockets stop?
You all don't seem to understand that several years ago these rockets DID land, and DID injure and kill many people in Israel. Then, Israel (with the help of the US) chose to invest in defensive systems instead of offensive system.
Hamas could've done the same (of course not to the same extent, but they could've invested in defense). Did they do this? Nope. Instead, they invest in offense - because they don't care about defending the citizens of Gaza. That's not the point of their campaign. So think about that for a little bit and maybe you'll realize there's a bit of a difference between the two sides.
The situation in Gaza is desperate, I agree. But it's not like Israel can just stop airstrikes and everything goes back to normal (in fact there have been two ceasefire attempts already in this flare-up, both broken up by rocket fire from Gaza). It's really not as simple as some of you make it out to be.

I completely fail to grasp what I think you're implying.
...so because Israel's state of the art missile defense system intercepts 99.9% of semi-threatening 3rd world technology rockets, thereby preventing any Israeli casualties, they therefore have the right to launch an offensive that kills hundreds of innocent Palestinians in the name of destroying the stock of these ---wait for it---- semi-threatening 3rd world technology rockets that pose no real threat to them.... Huh??? I guess that makes sense. lol

The Hamas should be destroyed, but some other friends of yours claimed that Israel is "blind shooting from the air", which is of course nonsense, but now we are there, we can act better in order to save the lives of the innocent. Don't get it wrong, we don't want people who don't attack us to die or get hurt, we are humans, modern ones, just like you  .

Of course killing innocent people is wrong. No one is debating that, nor is anyone defending Palestine's right to kill innocent people. What we are saying is that the balance of power between these two people is simply unfair. What Palestine is doing to Israel is virtually minuscule compared to what Israel has done, will do, and can do to Palestine. Israel has the right to defend themselves, but they are using excessive force when doing so.
Palestine is only doing what it's doing to protect itself from Israel. It's all they can do before they are WIPE OFF THE PLANET. Why don't you get that? They have to fight back, they have to do everything they can so that Israel doesn't walk in and kill them all.

THIS is a rational argument. I think it's definitely fair to say that Israel tends to use excessive force. I agree with that. It's not right and i will not defend that. Thank you for posting without being overly emotional like the rest of the people in this thread.

What I was trying to say was, if Israel didn't have any of this protection, there would be more death on the Israeli side then what we're seeing. Obviously

First of all "modern humans" (whatever that means) don't cheer at missiles being launched to kill innocents, modern humans dont also call for all palestinans mothers to be killed.
Now that you are in gaza there will be even more deaths and even more human rights violations just like every other time you did a ground invasion there. Like the time you dropped white phosphorus on the civilians.

American jews pump money into the democrats and their campage -> democrats pump more money into Israel.
This cycle won't stop till at least Obama is not in power anymore. After that many things can happen. Not saying that it's only to blame to Obama but he can't really bite the hand that feeds him. They basically got HIM by the balls if anything.

It's hard not to be emotional when you've seen the pictures coming out from both places. It's hard for me, as an American, to have a say in all of this when my country is supporting the oppressors, but it's hard to just sit back and watch.

No, Israel is not blindly shooting, they are purposely targeting Palestinian areas, such as the beach with children on it that they just blew up.
