A thread full of explanations and responses explaining why the ad is problematic, and there are still remarks like yours. Why do you think straight hair gives off the "best impression in places where you'd dress smart?" Oh, but I'm sure, it's just a coincidence that the best way for the black model to look "smart" is for her not to sport her natural hair

Someone alluded to this earlier, but workplace/hiring discrimination is very real. Locks, braids, twists, afros, etc., styles most common to black women are often referred to as "
political hairstyles," unfit for those serving their country in the
military, or better yet,
not elegant enough, for your own damn wedding.
