Albums were not handed out with tickets at all. It also wasn't "free"
Your comment is the utmost gesture of ignorance of how it all works.
Only high end tickets had a download code attached to them - In order for the album to be counted as a unit the person purchasing the album needed to take that code and download the album in a seperate transaction. These albums were also not considered free as per billboards rules

You can argue Madonna's success all you want, You can downplay it all you want. The
fact remains she's still much more sucessful than Janet. Downplaying Madonna's success only hurts your case against the lesser sucessful Jackson. Again, there's no debating over it - It's blatantly obvious why Madonna is considered the Queen.
Janet certainly gets the credit she deserves.
