Headvoice - Beyonce
Whistle: Ofcourse Mariah

Although, Mariah had the larger range in general, Beyonce's range was more connected; much more even scale. Mariah's 5th and 6th octave is disconnnected..Both had a great deal of agility (Mariah's coordination edges out Beyonce due to sheer ease and fluidity). Mariah's musicianship was also better, but Beyonce makes up for it with her affinity for improv. and interpretive charm.

But if we compare their latest albums, Mariah by far !!!! In fact all Mariah's albums but 3 are vocally better than Beyonce live and studio.

Yes, the whistle and "whisper" register are two different terms. The whistle register is the highest register of one's voice while the "whisper" register is a Mariah-exclusive term used to describe her ability to hit whistle and falsetto notes at very low frequencies, which results in a really breathy and high sound that no one else can do.

And yes, of course, she was not the first one to use the whistle register.

Yes, back in 2007, however Beyonce's timbre is darkening at an EXTREMELY fast rate, as of late, it's starting to become her best asset. Beyonce doesn't have Mariah's huskiness, but her lows are certainly much more resonant and warmer (they have this certain richness), Beyonce's phrasing in the lower extremes of her voice is better too... Also, in her prime, Mariah lowered her larrnx to reach most second octave notes, while Beyonce maturing into a darker mezzo extends deep into the 2nd and 3rd octave with more cordination
