I don't see anyone doing what she did because it cuts the era short. There's no hype, there's no ongoing mystery or fascination. It's all there and then it just ends. There's nothing else to be excited about or talk about with regards to Beyonce. All the songs are out, the singles are done, the videos are done, and so is the promotion. Most of the fun in an era as a stan are those things, and as an artist, labels love being able to sell albums and singles and music videos, and this release doesn't allow it. As was said by anyone with half a brain on 12/13, this surprise release will not change any game, although it was a cute one time thing.

Most aren't brave enough to do it. Then why do headlines read "Pulling A Beyonce" if it hasn't change any thing? Let's make sense

So all the proof you have are those december headlines? Be rational for once and tell me how exactly did she change the game when absolutely no one but one guy has done the same thing. If you can't make others follow your steps then you aren't making any impact at all. If we're gonna take headlines as the final say then Katy Perry is the Queen of Pop, so is Gaga, Avril, Rihanna, Xtina, Britney, Adele etc. I need proof of what she actually changed not some deluded headlines from december, with expectations of what she failed to achieve.

when UK girls followed rihanna hairstyle and looked ugly for months did it prevent rihanna from being called trend setter? people followed her whether it's been in a short period or not there's still an impacT

the fact that they couldnt get the same numbers provedT that there's still no one at her level in the game.

So one guy counts as her peers?
Girl, she has sold 3.2 million and she's currently out of charts. There have been way too many albums with better sales in the last 5 years. So there are plenty of people at and above her level, let's not.

As I said, the headlines music biz say otherwise, game-changer. None of her peers would dare to do it. You being mad still won't change history, deal

Now the excuse is no one would dare to do it, when there are plenty of acts that are able to sell more than her, how logical. Lana del Rey has sold almost 5 million with no successful singles, and no promo and while being a "tumblr artist". Now you're talking about history, omg.
Oh, how unfortunate for the Hive, so you don't have proof, alright that's exactly what I thought.

Where do you think "Pulling A Beyonce" came from? I mean there are several threads asking who will be next If it didn't have an impact or had any change on the biz you wouldn't ask who will follow.

We are still talking about Bionic 4 years later and Britney Jean, after almost the same amount of time as BEYONCÉ.
So, that's how logical your statement is.

No she didn't change a thing.
And it wasn't risky cos had she flopped, her fans would've used the surprise itself as an excuse.

But I'm still confused on how headlines saying 'pulling a Beyonce" show that the game was changed by Beyonce, when no one else has done it.

If anyone deserves credit it's Bowie tbh. His surprise release was also pretty successful (1.4m copies worldwide) and definitely inspired Beyonce to do the same.
