It depends of how much overweight tbh, if there's a life risk of course he/she has to be pushed to live healthier.

Educate them, there's nothing else you can do. Most overweight people will not admit that they have an issue - some don't even see it as an issue. The problem is that it's very difficult to get rid of excess weight if you're a grown up, that's why I think overweight children should be treated through diet and sports.

So true! I developed an eating disorder after losing all my weight and went dangerously thin. The mental anguish is pure torture. Those who say 'just eat' are beyond ignorant.

Just because a person is obese doesn't necessarily mean they eat unhealthy. I know plenty of overweight people who eat just as healthy as I do and plenty of people my size or smaller who don't lead healthy lifestyles at all. Don't be so quick to judge others.
And a lot of other intangibles factor into obesity rather than just leading a sedentary lifestyle and unhealthy diet such as genetics and psychology.

and drug addiction and alcohol addiction, by this very logic, are simply 100% preventable, yet oh wait people can just as easily get addicted to those too. like I said in a post prior, somehow this isn't the same thing as the formers because it's. simply. eating.

I used to be overweight all the way up to my early teens, so yes, I know how ****** it feels. I developed anorexia as a product of how ****** I felt, which not only destroyed my health but also ruined whatever was left of my self esteem.
I was obese because I ate ****, and I'm now gaining weight again to recover from my ED which feels terrible.
Fat shaming someone or telling them to lose weight is obviously not the answer. I would never tell someone to lose weight. However, education on a healthy lifestyle should be taught from an early age to prevent the trauma of obesity or eating disorders later on in life.

They're beautiful in their ways... If they choose to lose some weight, good for them... If its my friends, I'll be there, if it's not, than it's none of my business!

of course but you go so far as to say it's 100% the product of "not caring" which ********. I'm sorry for your experiences, but you don't speak for everyone who suffers(ed) from obesity, not everyone goes through it the way you do and that's what's ignorant, your assumption that it's oh so simple and one-way. You're right, people need to be educated but at the end of the day it's how a person is effected and reacts to the thing itself. everyone is different.

I don't care tbh. As long as you don't know that person's story, you have no idea why they are overweight. I mean, for example, thyroid problems **** up your weight like nothing and sometimes there's nothing you can do about it (I have hypothyroidism and I gained 8kg within 2 months, eating still the same way and everything, I'm just lucky it also stopped there - unfortunately not everyone is). However, overweight people who complain about their weight and then run to KFC to eat everything in there including the staff and then are like "ughhh, why can't I be skinnier?" annoy the **** out of me.

It annoys me when I'm in the bus going to uni and I'm pushed against the window when an obese person is sitting next to me. Happened to me last week and I swear his leg was as big as my entire body. He occupied 3/4 of the 2 chairs and I was stuck between the window and his ****

Sure, but no one gets obese from eating healthy food which is why I feel no sympathy for obese people.

I agree. People are so quick to equate a lean/slim body with health and good nutrition.

Good for them then. I'll be the one living longer without any risk for heart disease, diabetes, cancer, osteoporosis, etc...

Glass houses.... Didn't you just say you were once overweight and suffered from anorexia? You of all people should understand their struggle. Also, you may be recovering now, but a lot of damage caused by anorexia nervosa can be irreversible including damage to the heart, osteoporosis/loss of bone density, and infertility.

ATRL's stupidity and insecurity never ceases to amaze me.
Half of you queens think because you have the body of 12-year old malnourished girls that you're healthy and above someone who's overweight.
We tend to sympathize with those who suffer from eating disorders like anorexia and bulimia because of "media pressure" but don't acknowledge that binge eating disorders exist as well.

I know all if this obviously, but the damages can be reversed over time with proper diet. I know from experience that the only way to overcome the self loathing that comes from both extremes of the weight spectrum is to wake up and focus on health. It is the most important thing you can do for yourself. You can't expect a pat on the back for destroying your well being.
