She's a major influence on the biggest females in music right now. Miley, Gaga, Lana, Katy, Selena, Demi, etc. Her iconic performances, videos, songs. I could go on and on.
This whole comment is delusional but this part..... do Ray of Light and Music suddenly not exist? Can't Get You Out of My Head was already a worldwide #1 three years before Toxic, bye
How are RoL, Music, CGYOMH, etc. retro-pop? RoL and Music were electronica songs. CGYOMH is nu-disco. They are also influences on dance pop music of today. How does that negate "Toxic's" influence?

It's OK. Britney Jean bombed, so we'll let ya'll have this one.
Let us have them? Bitch, feel free to try and argue these points and I'll drag you by the roots, too.
Britney defines the quintessential popstar. She had the looks, the sex appeal, the voice (not a stellar one, but a RECOGNIZABLE one - far more important when it comes to remembering songs), the music, the videos, the performances, and, of course, the media pull. Add that in to an empire of advertisements and tons of money-making products released under her name - dolls, shoes, perfumes. She even had the rabid fan base. Before there were Monsters or Smilers, Directioners, and Lovatics there was the Britney stans - after all, Chris Crocker happened right as YouTube was blowing up. It was one of the first viral videos. That's what we classify as a pop star.
And, popularity. She was on all magazines and God knows she's been parodied tons of times, that's not exactly something to brag over, but it infiltrates her in pop culture. And being one of the most searched up and photographed people on the Planet.
And now she has a successful residency to add to the list. Seeing as Vegas is becoming a spot for the younger crowd, bring in Britney to lure them in.
Her Lolita phase launched soooo many stars. Christina Aguilera, Jessica Simpson, Mandy Moore, Alize, Girls' Generation, Miley Cyrus, T-ARA, etc. got their start by emulating Britney Spears.
Then, Britney did the whole Lolita-gone-wild bit and we saw her strip naked at the VMAs, become a Slave 4 us, kiss Madonna, etc. Every single one of these girls including some others (like Rihanna with her GGGB theme) borrowed from that to make themselves media staples.
"Toxic" was the retro-dance pop hit of our generation and influenced Madonna's "Hung Up" and COTDF and just about every dance-pop song afterwards. Nicki Minaj stated in in 2010 right before "Massive Attack" that she would be paying homage to "Toxic" with different colored wigs and started a trend of her own with that homage
Blackout...well, do you need any help there?
HIAM made dubstep viable. It was the first time dubstep EVER went top 40 and afterwards so many big hits used dubstep. The first time dubstep EVER went mainstream was on her Blackout album.
Her breakdown made Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan the #3 and #2 biggest celebrities of 2007. She literally carried other random people and made them bigger than most people's faves that years just by association While she wasn't at a healthy place in her life, she was the biggest media fixture since Princess Diana, if not bigger. That feat has not been matched since.
How? Not every single one. The delusion is beyond belief at this point. EVERY SINGLE FEMALE?
Wow.

She's had zero real impact on pop music outside of the bubble, teen-pop fad. Her "impact" is greatly overrated to an immense degree, too.
All of her so called iconic moments have been overshadowed by her breakdown. At this point, she's more infamous than she is legendary.

Do you want to try again or is that the best you can muster?
The Army are the only people who hold her to such a high degree.
Most people still think she's bald and don't know she released an albums since Blackout.
Pretty much. She's seen as a joke to everyone outside of her fan base. No one takes her serious as a musician. They do pity her a great deal because of what she's been through, but, the general public or critics don't really hold Britney to high standards or expect much of her.

cause im sure she cares that she's seen as a joke right

You can call those songs whatever made up genre you want to but they are all dance/electropop songs which weren't popular at the time. Toxic was a biT out of the box but that doesn't mean a huge hit from the biggest dance artist of all time Madonna wouldn't have existed without it
It's barely nonexistent actually. Just like from the beginning with Baby One More Time, it was just an extension of the teen bubblegum popish sound Christina brought forth in the late 90s with Disney's Reflection, and so forth in her career it's the same deal.
She sexed the industry up to another level and lowered the standard of talent for the female pop star. Every little girl wanted to be like Britney Spears, everyone knew who Britney Spears was, and Britney Spears references (usually negative) were everywhere. She had the coveted spot of the undeniable pop "it-girl."
