What I meant is that this era was awful in every way except the quality of the songs.
At the end of the day, isn't the quality of the songs all that matter? Who cares if she is not selling or not getting hits when she is making great pop records like Blackout.

Well of course we want her to get hits, but that doesn't mean we don't care if she produces quality music. The album could've came out the same way and been a complete flop, like I expected with everything that was going on, and I still would be loving it right now.
So to say its BS to believe we care about the quality over success is very wrong. Maybe those are your standards.
I think all of y'all need to cope with the fact that this era is over. No single, no matter how hot ("Toy Soldier") or how bad ("Ooh Ooh Baby") could save this album at this point. Every single person in this thread has been pulling and hoping for a miracle this era, but the truth is, **** JUST AIN'T COMING.
Take this summer/fall to focus on another artist and when Britney really DOES come back, we can annoy all the people don't like Brit on this forum like we do best.

I know everyone thinks Break the Ice didn't fair too well, but for those of you who don't know it reached #20 on the Pop 100, while Piece of Me only reached #18! That's not too bad
