The only chance this album has is with the 3rd single. "Give It 2 Me" will struggle to go top 20 because radio stations will still be playing "4 Minutes" well into the summer (the second single curse ala Rihanna, Nelly Furtado!)

More depends on the third single which will have a better chance of gaining airplay. I think Warner are looking at it this way, "Give It 2 Me" wont be a huge radio hit but fans will love it, then release "Beat Goes On" which is far more radio friendly even though it is a more urban record.

But even with "Beat Goes On" this album will struggle to go platinum. And Warner will probably **** up and release some **** like "Voices"

"Give It 2 Me" will do amazing overseas. The US market is unpredictable. Rihanna's "DSTM" had Europe written all over it and it became a hit in the US. Plus I think "Miles Away" will become her "Irreplaceable"/"Say it Right" in the US.

The album is a pop album with a *twist* of R&B and urban production, the album itself is not R&B or urban. The only urban thing about the album are the producers.

I went back to this post and it was made on 2/15/08. Which means like 3 months before the album was even out. So once again you bring a comment of someone who hadn't heard the album at the time they made their post. HOW PLAYBOY OF YOU! And he was basically commenting on this review:

HARD CANDY = NO R&B WHAT'S SO EVER!

People tend to mix up what's R&B and what's not. Aritist like Rihanna & Ciara are called R&B but only have came close to what is R&B, nither of them have really done R&B music. They have done what is Pop/Hip-Hop. Which is what "Hard Candy" is.... Pop/Hip - Hop...especially "Candy Shop"

. Don't throw R&B around like it's a joke, cause Hard Candy doesn't have a bit of R&B in it.

But yeah here's how I think her singles should go.

FOR SUCESS IN THE US (AND TO HELP HER ALBUM SALE):
1. 4 Minutes
2. Miles Away
3. Candy Shop
4. Devil Wouldn't Recognize
I Can't really see any of the other songs becoming huge hits besides those "Heartbeat" would do okay though
