No one said she was the biggest touring act. Obviously no one thinks she's out there pulling off Madonna and U2 numbers.

BTWB did $180M from 98 dates (actually, it might be less than 98--I'm not sure if that's including the cancelled dates or not). The California Dreams tour managed $60M from 124 dates. The math isn't difficult.

TMB did indeed have 201 dates, but the first half of the tour didn't contribute that much to the gross since she kept it small. Once she came back with the revamped TMB she was doing ~2M per night. That's pretty damn amazing for someone so early into her career; Katy certainly isn't doing that. Rihanna wasn't doing that at that point in her career.

Deny it all you want, but Gaga's tours have been huge and unless she has truly, truly fallen, she will still outgross Katy.

oh I'm not denying that. don't get me wrong. to have so many dates you need to have an audience. but i do think her fans are exaggerating her touring success. she's playing it smart by extending her tour with legs and doing it while she was such a big hype, especially at first. she toured while making new videos. extra hype. also beyonce is doing REALLY well right now. so is JT if I'm not mistaken. i can see beyonce taking her place as the pop/rnbgirl of her generation in the touring business.

Gaga? I'm not really a Gaga stan but her touring success is NOT overrated she's like what? 6 years into her career? she has one $200M tour and the other one was going to gross 200m but the dates were cancelled.

I don't remember any artist being this successful in the touring department at this point in their career

In Oceania, it seems to be like Katy has overtaken her. Katy will be performing for over 200k+ and there seems to still be demand for her shows. Gaga is doing 4 (?) arena shows there. In the United Steates, Katy seems to be performing on par or even better than Gaga, she's doing twice as much dates as ARTPOP tour. Gaga still has the advantage in Europe and Asia though... But overall, I think Katy has come a long way and if not this tour, the next tour, she'll overtake Lady Gaga in this arena as well.
