Basically, our class was separated into boys (on the left) and girls (on the right). We we're supposed write down what was expected of our own gender in society, and then write down what we expected of the opposite gender in society, thus, putting them into these "gender roles" and what not. It basically showed what we as a society think of ourselves and the opposite sex, and what we automatically expect and see how we play into these roles. It was an interesting exercise cause everyone came together and wrote what they felt (even though you had the few childish ones, but that can't be helped).
I will say that I do agree that certain "roles" can only be filled by that particular sex, that I can come to terms with. But a lot of other things revolving around this topic I don't agree with at all and just seem silly to me. That's just my personal preference and opinion.
