Now unlike the year-end chart, all videos are on a level play-field to be fair. That means a video that came out just 1 month ago could be #1 on this list if it's amazing enough. Well, we might have an instance here. That said, here's the top 10 videos of 2007.
10. Stephanie McIntosh - So Do I Say Sorry First - Although this is the top MWC song, the video doesn't quite make it much better than it already is, therefore it's a hot song with a good video, but not much of a storyline.
9. Rihanna - Shut Up And Drive - Certainly she makes the video look hot. I mean, how cute is this girl? Yes, I was iffy on her in 2005....but she has completely shed that iffiness forever IMO.
8. Melissa O'Neil - Speechless - This video and song just blows you away. It's hard to bet against this song considering it was last year's #1 song of the year. This video somewhat boosted her performance on my countdown, but what's given is that she looks hot.
7. Aly & A.J. - Potential Breakup Song - The flashiness of this video is mainly why this deadly duo is here. Definitely a difference compared to their debut album and this video proved that theory.
6. Ashley Tisdale - Be Good To Me - This song was considered to be Stephanie's biggest competition on the list. It may be performance-only but she didn't actually shoot a video for it, but still it's a hot video. Definitely don't deny her.
5. Belinda - See A Little Light - Belinda is one beautiful singer from the yonder. This may be a b&w video, but it has that nice feel to it. The ballet portion of the video is also memorable. Credit to IMF for helping me discover Belinda.
4. Paramore - Crushcrushcrush - Yeah, an all-around good video. Desert, beautiful voice, edginess, etc.
3. Dolores O'Riordan - Ordinary Day - Nothing flashy about this video, it appears to have a good storyline, plus this is her comeback too and she nabbed that honor for me. 2007's Biggest Comeback Of The Year.
2. Ashley Tisdale - He Said, She Said - I know people are gonna be critical but I have different criteria from many people. Intensely fast video, sexy dance moves, outfit, dance beat, THIS IS EXACTLY HOW A DANCE SONG SHOULD SOUND LIKE!
1. Stephanie McIntosh - Tightrope - It's really tough to call which is my favorite video of the year, but this one takes it by a close close margin. She balances that rope and it's sort of that night-sky feel. It's sort of a pop/dance/rock-esque song, but this video is pretty amazing. I recommend you check this video out.
Thanks for the input. I'm gonna do something extra and do something called my top 20-30 non-singles of the year. Expect a LOT of Ashley and Stephanie on this list.
Mike's 2007 Endchart:20-11 on the best NON-music videos' READ
Yes, I have a non-music video countdown. Me describing the clip can't do justice, you will have to judge yourself. It could be anything from tributes to live performances and everything in between.
20. Chip Reese tribute - He died just about a week ago in his sleep.
19. Paula Deanda's Walk Away (Acoustic version) - Definitely a different feel.
18. Eric & Jessica of BB8 - Eric analyzes the first kiss. Figure that out.
17. Jaime of Survivor:China - Jaime shows a fake idol at tribal council, leads to her elimination.
16. LSU's fake field goal.
15. Ashley Tisdale performs He Said, She Said on TRL - Seriously, this is the dance song of the year. It's full of energy!
14. Miley Cyrus performs See You Again live in concert - Considering how young she is, she has a bright future in store for her.
13. Jessica of BB8 getting HOH - This might've put a target on Jessica, but it also put a huge target on Daniele since she was a threat. Both girls are full of awesomeness.
12. Daniele of BB8 getting HOH - I could find a lot of ones from her, but it would take me to do an official top 20 Daniele Donato videos countdown to do it. I'll save that for another day.
11. Jerry Yang dominates 2007 WSOP Main Event, starting from 8th in chips to winning it all.
The top 10 later, and I promise to get 80-71 on the songs up either tomorrow or today.
