I get annoyed looking at critiques of Black music from White 9-year -old bottoms who think R&B music began with the Unapologetic album, but let me give a brief history lesson:
1. Rihanna did not invent "ratchet/urban/jungle bunny music/niggra/coon music" whatever you people like to call it. Please see "Diva"/"Soldier".
Beyonce is from Houston, TX one of the birthplaces of that sound. She was absorbing that culture long before Rihanna swam over here...
2. Rihanna did not invent Black female sexuality on record. (Janet Jackson, Lil' Kim and Millie Jackson and many others would like to say hello.)

Yesss
And when will Rihanna EVER be able to produce an album even close to the quality of BEYONCE? Never.

don't know why yall are
its just a question, answer it and move on
why would Beyoncé getting an 86 metercritic score or selling 3 million in a month make me mad
she should do that, she like the biggest entertainer in the world and has been out since 1998
didn't know Rihanna's name made yall so mad

Kelly Rowland's Motivation had more impact on BEYONCÉ and Rihanna, ushering in more of a wave of Sex-n-B to pop than Rihanna has.

Rihanna made urban popular again? So are Gaga, Katy, and Britney now on urban too? Nobody jumped on urban because of Rihanna. She made nothing popular and did nothing for the genre.
The same people that were doing urban before Rihanna are still doing it.

This is almost akin to saying Macklemore made rap popular.

Yes, Rihanna's albums are much better than this FLOP, only has 86 points on Metacritic and sold only 1,7M in 2 months.
So this album sounds nothing like a Rihanna album.

I've realized your resounding hate for Beyonce lately. It's all too much.
But, then I just look at my avatar (86 Metacritic Score) and her WW iTunes position and I just smile.

Let's wait for the ICON and VEVO certified artist of our generation to release an actual urban single as her first single and then we can talk about urban music. Throwing dollars to your ***** doesn't make you an R&B artist.

The OP and the rest of the Navy not bringing any receipts. Questions have been posed, arguments set, so let's hear it. I am super ready for this.
For all those who say this doesn't sound like other Beyonce albums: wrong. It's an evolution. It's seamless and cohesive as an album (unlike any Rihanna album because that's not what a Rihanna album is for, to be a complete concept). And every single song on it can be tied thematically, lyrically and/or musically to prior songs. As a visual album it tells an autobiographical story, moving from put-upon, conflicted pageanty performer (which Beyonce was) to awakening sexuality and love to deepening and maturing as a partner and then a mother. None of that bears any resemblance to anything Rihanna has ever done because it's not her life. Y'all not taking Beyonce's most autobiographical work and giving it to...that one.
Pretty Hurts is the kind of 'raise the girls up" power ballad Beyonce has been singing all her life. And unlike Rihanna, Bey doesn't just take a Sia track and sing it like Sia, with Rihanna even imitating Sia's accent.
Haunted, lol, NO. Blow, again, direct trace to every cute suggestive song Beyonce's been doing. Kitty Kat, Naughty Girl, Suga Mama come on now. Rocket is a direct analog to D'Angelo and IF RIHANNA DOES SONGS LIKE D'ANGELO OR PRINCE I DARE SAY WE'D HAVE HEARD ABOUT IT. Rocket also recalls If and Speechless, Beyonce songs. Dance For You. I mean, damn. Rihanna doesn't even do that sultry, cute one-woman one-man thing. She has her lane don't try to push her out she might get run over.

yes they are,, jewels and drugs, dark horse, etc.
but since Rihanna had no impact ....so explain to me why urban is so popular now and mainstream and dance music is not the biggest thing anymore .....its must have been miley cyrus right? the girl who constantly gets called a rih copy
