Let's not pretend like hip hop was ever really here for B.o.B. to begin with. He's equivalent to Macklemore, supported by consumers of pop music, and then those consumers of pop music abandoned him, like they will abandon Macklemore. Macklemore will have a little more longevity, though, since he's Caucasian. Nicki Minaj catered to pop music, and pop consumers have largely abandoned her as well, so she could be in the same boat as B.o.B., but the hip hop community respects her more than B.o.B., so she has a chance to re-calibrate her fanbase with this new album, but she needs more hype first to do that, which, as of this very moment, is clearly lacking.
