its because Avril's "the best damn thing" is released april 2007 so its ok if she wins it will be unfair if nelly wins because her album is available from the start of the year

Actully avril sold more that 1 million in japan within 5 months. The japanese official chart dont count the import and the downloads
Plus, mediatraffic doesn't count certain markets, some asians countries, and Avril is HUGE there, and in 2007 Avril sold more than Nelly Furtado in Canada and WW, so our official sources are not so reliable, so we should trust IFPI and WMA
