They're being awfully selective. Birthday is legit the only sexual song on Prism, perhaps WOA but it's not overtly sexual with the exception of its usage of the word erotica.
All pop stars flaunt themselves, boss around their assistants, and desire to look good. It's nothing to overreact about.
I do agree she sounds ignorant in some parts, but naivety is a common trait amongst her contemporaries so nothing new there either.
Honestly, I think they are putting too much pressure on some of these pops stars to start Feminist movements. I think people forget that these pop stars are ENTERTAINERS not ACTIVISTS
comment is just annoying, pointless but unfortunately expected. Why do women always have to be role models? And who said that I want her to be my idol? We take the **** that celebrities say way too serious.
purposely a little air headed?you are telling me a person wants to be air headed and that that's why her fans like her
I dont think I was clear, what I meant to say is she doesnt take herself to seriously & she does come off air headed with the things she says, and yes her fanbase loves her because she isnt a try hard who tries to come off as something she is not like other popstars
i do agree in the fact that no one really takes her seriously. right now she's an over-glorified Carly Rae, and no amount of #1s will really change that. I want to see some substance in her work, stop using Dr Like, a radical change of sound, or something. then she'll have a chance to be respected
THIS! I don't agree with the bashing. But she is not going to respected unless she starts being more serious and grown with her craft. I think the GP still sees her as a joke sadly.
