If you have pain when you brush your teeth, that's not normal. I had pain when I brushed the upper-right side of my teeth and I found out that I had an infection.

I found out because I had braces I was unable to brush certain parts of my teeth which caused it. A small, painless injection into the teeth cured it within a day. Braces have been off for 5-6 months and mouth-wise, I feel great.

You should go see a doctor before it gets worse. If I were you, getting my teeth checked out would be a number one priority.
