so wait... So yes using this logic, Slave 4 U VMA 2001 was mediocre but Katy Perry's EMA wasn't?

this! I'm not delusional I know other singers lipsynch here and there including my fave sometimes, but she literally doesn't sing a word live for the entire 1 1/2-2 hrs of her show. the article is bs because none of those reasons excuse it, nothing does and maybe if she actually was serving it with her choreo I could somewhat agree but she doesnt.

Most of these Britney stans here are not understanding the POINT of the nay-sayers (or haters) -
Most people are objecting to the excuses listed in the article, not the fact that Britney is lip syncing. We knew this. But the problem is, the article conceived some of the weakest, and frankly, the most embarrassing attempts at justification ever. They do, indeed look like delusional attempts and it's troubling if it's published by a reputable website.
I don't dislike Britney - I'm indifferent to her. But I had to cringe at these "justifications." It's awful.

Gyal it's Britney Spears. She's been lipping since Baby One More Time. The fact that people are still complaining about her not singing live is just
Like move on. ![deadbanana](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/korn0818/ATRL_Smilies_All/bananas/deadbanana2_zpsd45da7d4.gif)

None of these reasons justify her lip syncing or anyone's lip syncing. Britney is a singer. She shouldn't even be attempting to dance if she can't pull off the vocals first. When you see a performer like that live in concert, you expect live vocals. I think it's wrong for her to be lip syncing. It's a fraud, and it's a rip-off for a lot of people. That's not a live performer. Even if she's got crazy costumes and great dancing to make up for it, it's wrong. Singing should be the primary focus at one of her concerts, and the fact that it's not really bothers me.

Celine Dion doesn't. And she's an icon. So, that's a total lie.

And yes, many will try and nominate Gaga for this. But in all honestly she can't dance. Sure she has routines with some side steps, a twist or two, but NONE of her choreographed performances come anywhere close to how intricate and challenging dances such as Janet's, Brits, MJ, J.Lo, Paula Abdul, etc. are.
Many of the greats such as Madonna, Janet, Celine, Mariah, and yes MJ have all lipped. It's their voice on the track, I don't see as to why it really matters.
It's laughable that Brit gets the but of these threads on Atrl. But how come Celine, and Mariah are dismissed? Neither dance. Shouldn't they be getting the most blame? Considering they are "vocalists" and are just standing in place?
Id rather have all singers lip tbh. What gets me is people have this concept that if you attemp to sing live, your automatically more talented. Which is not the case, especially for singers such as Katy Perry. If that was the case Katy must be really talented, because them live performances are very "live". I'd rather have others lip than to have to hear another live award performance from Katy Perry. "Well Celine might have sold more records, but at atleast Katy can sing live" oh so what does that prove? That Katy can struggle and try to hit notes throughout the performance, but it automatically makes her so much more talented.
It's a double standards game. Almost all of MJs "iconic" performances were lipped. Hell there is an award show performance of him lipping to Remember The Time, and he is literally sitting in a chair the whole time lipping it. But no one says anything about. Lipping doesn't make anyone less talented, or less worthy. These artists we hear on the radio are "recording artists". It's about the entertainment of it. So what if someone lips. As long as it's their voice, and they put on a show, who cares.

I understand the frustration from actual fans but why are people pressed when they aren't even fans? ![deadbanana](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/korn0818/ATRL_Smilies_All/bananas/deadbanana2_zpsd45da7d4.gif)

She has done it, let's not but in her case is to keep her voice as good as she has it now.

You see. Now that's the actual problem. I never believed that she actually would, but the fact that she claimed she always sings live. ![ahh](images/smilies/images/smilies/ahh.gif) I'm surprised I haven't seen someone try to drag that yet.

We all know Brit doesn't sing live. No one expects her to, not even her fans. No one even expects her to dance well, which is why the Army is so easily pleased when their girl attempts some 8 counts in between walking across the stage to a beat.
The "haters" responding here just don't think it's cute that there are people who are willing to excuse her piss poor performances because she's "trying really hard," or "she's not even the focus anyway," or "it's Vegas." ![rip](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/korn0818/ATRLSmilies/rip_zpsec10ede9.gif)

Nnnnn no one is clocking anything. if someone actually takes this news article that seriously then they have problems.

Bake. What does a firefighter do? Fight ****ing fires. She's a singer. She should be singing. I like her music and I enjoy a lot of artists' music who lipsynch their performances. That doesn't make it ok. Especially if people are paying an arm and a leg to fly to see them do the robot on stage for 2 hours surrounded by other people dancing.

as a stan, I'd rather seeing her lip syncing than trying to pull out horrid live vocals ![:o](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/korn0818/ATRLSmilies/redface_zpsfd99364e.gif)
she's an entertainer, not a vocalist after all ![:o](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/korn0818/ATRLSmilies/redface_zpsfd99364e.gif)
