I posted the following in their comment section a little while ago.
Quote:
"However no one is feeling the pain more than her record label, which sank $25 million into making this spectacle profitable..."
The above quote was made up by a journalist on The Examiner. Even a Billboard editor acknowledged that this statement lacks authenticity and is a fallacy. If you want to seem credible, please do research before slandering someone. Perhaps "ARTPOP" didn't live up to the higher than average expectations that Gaga has set herself up to, but it was still a success. For comparison's sake, Katy Perry's arguable peak in popularity rewarded her opening week album sales of 286,000 copies, while Gaga's supposed 'downfall' resulted in her having a just slightly smaller opening week album sales of 258,000 copies. And at this point, "ARTPOP" (1,187,000 copies sold worldwide) has already outsold Miley Cyrus's "Bangerz" (1,125,000 copies sold worldwide) and Lorde's "Pure Heroine" (922,000 copies sold worldwide) in both the US and worldwide, even though you say the latter two "easily ran away with all the success". This comment is not meant to attack any of the aforementioned artists or the author of this article, but please, check your facts before publishing, as it seems that you did not.
