Not really the point. It's not that it's lower, it's that it's not significantly more.
You probably would expect that considering its coming off the success of the TD era. She's had 3 years of hugely successful singles and wide promotion. Not to mention a 4th quarter release which allowed for an X factor performance. And the comeback hype.
She sold more than Miley and both have been getting similar success. She will be fine, I don't know why some people are bringing up "Born this Way" first week numbers. Katy wasn't nearly as big as Gaga in the UK.
Is 53k good? I know that people in the UK buy a significantly less amount of records than people in the US.
Because there's less people. It's the year's highest female debut, and the UK was a bigger market in 2010, but overall Prism's sales are good, not great.
