Try-hard nonsense aside, why does the article headline make it known she is feminist when the article isn't even about gender related issues?
It's basically "feminist has an opinion about something' followed by garbage. Way to put a damper on feminists who are actually smart about **** like this.

Because white feminists are often extremely racist and focus only on white women's needs.
This writer is making no sense. Where the **** is this racist bit at I've heard royals so many times and have yet to find anything that suggests otherwise.
I see both sides of the argument. While I don't think the girl is racist, her need to bring up how she's "above" black-coded symbols of wealth is a bit trite. Not surprising coming from a white 16-year old being sold as "wise beyond her years."

How is she saying she's "above" that sort of stuff? If anything, the song is saying she's BELOW that.
The lyrics of the song aren't about symbols black wealth - they're about the content of "braggy" songs and the ******** of it all.

There is always a separation between headline and article, always.
An author of an article never writes the headline.
He clearly hasn't had his ear in the streets. Black ppl moved on from Grey Goose to Ciroc a good 5 years ago.
lol at that Royals line being racist. The reach
It would be racist if polos and golf was continually talked about in pop music, but it's not. Which is why she's referencing gold teeth, maybachs etc. Not to mention that rap is one of the most boastful genres out there, so to reference it really isn't any big deal.
Also even if she was talking about black people only, she is referring to them as royals (aka seen as better than most people). Hardly racist.
