Yes, but not unexpected. It's no secret she faded. She still has a huge support from her label so obviously she is not going to just disappear, but it is nowhere as big as the start of her previous eras.
I bought The Fame, didn't like BTW (expect MTN, which is a great song destroyed by that awful video).
Applause is bad. And even those sinppets. I don't know who are you kidding. They're awful. So yeah, it's disapponting in every aspect. This era doesn't look promising at all.
I just don't care, but Applause is not as bad as some people make it out to be.

No because the era just started so I can't say it's disappointing as a whole. I was underwhelmed with applause as a song because I thought we would get something a lot better. But the new song (Sex Dreams) sounds fresh so I'm ready for the 2nd single to be that. I never expected her to ditch the outfits or crazy vidz/performances
Her music, her show, her things are not for everybody - her performances are made for her fans, her shows, they're all made SOLELY for her fans - if you become a fan after the fact, good for you - but lets take for instance the VMA performance this year, if you're not her fan, you simply wouldn't understand the grandiose subtext behind it, you'd think it was sub-par and continue on with you overly simplistic view of what her art is - but if you know it's who she is where she came from and where's going, see under the mask - see the art for art and not a simplistic performance than hey all power to you -

The lead single is actually a bop, I always heard it on radio here and it does grow on me. I don't know why but the song is on par with both Just Dance and Born This Way. For me, most of Gaga's album tracks are the ones that really stand out (bar TEOG and You and I). Even Bad Romance is on the same vein of Applause.
There is a little disappointment because even if the hype waa not immense, I still expected something bigger than Applause, but over all, the promo and other stuffs does not disappoint me. Maybe most people here were just expecting instant success from LG.
Yes, so far it is. Not to say I didn't like anything she has put out or done up until this point, but everything seems SOOO uneventful, like she's there, but no one's really paying attention except her fans (obviously). Her lead single underperformed and that came as a shock to many of us, and I was expecting something different because y'all like to hype her as the next Beethoven and what not, despite that I like Applause and I'm pretty sure her 2nd single will be better. I'm looking forward to the iTunes festival as well, it's been looking promising.
