Yeah
Madonna used to be very thirsty for success, I don't think she is that way anymore though. Maybe just for touring success, but she doesn't seem to care much about single and album sales anymore.

Which would explain why she works with producers like RedOne and Zedd.
I'd place my cards on Bey. She's been teasing her fans for months with literally no payout.

She hasn't been in studio with RedOne which means that they may not work together.... Zedd is not a hit maker.. your point?
Katy and Rihanna as I said.

This is a dumb question every artist wants success as in everyone else in the world. Who wants failure?

People saying Gaga.
So thirsty for success she buggered off for 2 years, during which she made an album with relatively unknown "EDM" producers.

Zedd is just starting to get a hit with "Clarity". He's no Dr. Luke or David Guetta or any of the other producers known for churning out generic pop hits.

Gaga's had her share of generic pop songs like Just Dance but she has so many more that are not generic (Paparazzi, The Edge of Glory, Marry The Night, Judas, Alejandro, etc.)
The excuses are becoming stale now.

Another shot before we kiss the other side
Tonight, yeah, baby! Tonight, yeah, baby!
I'm on the edge of something final we call life tonight
Alright! Alright!
Put on your shades, 'cause I'll be dancing in the flames
Tonight, yeah, baby! Tonight, yeah, baby!
It isn't hell if everybody knows my name tonight
Alright! Alright!
-----
I'm gonna marry the night
I won't give up on my life
I'm a warrior queen, live passionately tonight
Nothing's too cool to take me from you,
New York is not just a tan that you'll never loose
Love is the new denim and black,
Skeleton guns are wedding bells in the attic
-----
When he comes to me I am ready
To wash his feet with my hand if he needs
Forgive him if his tongue lies through his brain
Even after three times he betrays me
I wanna love you,
but something's pulling me away from you
Jesus is my virtue,
But Judas is the demon I cling to.
(if you honesty think referencing religion is generic, get some help)
-----
I'll be your girl
Backstage at your show
Velvet ropes and guitars
Yeah, 'cause you know I'm starting
Between the sets
Eyeliner and all the rest
Shadow is burnt
Yellow dance in return
My lashes are dry
Purple teardrops I cry
------
Stop trying.

Well, most seem to be thirsty for succsess but not in a bad way. I think it's mostly the labels though.

This.
Whether it's heavy promo, releasing music constantly for years with no break, using judging slots on talent shows to raise their public profile, re-releasing and milking the dog **** out of successful eras, radio deals, placing music in commercials -- they all want success and they all go to great measures to maintain it once achieved.
