Katy will probably do better singles wise, unless she actually makes a darker album which will get her her own BTW era and it's gonna be hard to do better than she did with TD. Gaga could also do great with singles if she choses them properly, but she will have higher album sales, also her tour will gross more and she'll have bigger impact on the gp.

I wish them both luck though.

It's hard to say, it's a turning point for both of them.
Katy seems more self-aware and has shown she has better foresight, so she may come out on top.
If Gaga keeps herself in check and panders a bit, she could win.
They could both underperform miserably.

I said "The only way I think Katy SLAYED Gaga was with single sales." which is basically linked to radio airplay as well.
Longevity is not that objective for Teenage Dream since it was re-released with 2 extra singles which got over promoted.

And still Gaga got to tour better, get more acclaim, impact harder and sell more albums with Born This Way which is going to turn 2 compared to Teenage Dream which will turn 3.

Gaga will probably have learnt from her mistakes from the BTW Era so this one wont be as messy. I think she could triumph this year over Katy because of her using EDM for ARTPOP

Not really relevant.

The bulk of sales always occur at release and during the run of the singles. The extra year would have SOME impact on the numbers yes.....but nothing significant enough to change the overall situation.
