I mean it's really hard because unless you're black and gay, you can't get the perspective from the other side. But for the sake of the discussion, I am going to say it is harder to be gay because:
-Basic rights are still taken away from gays in many areas of the world
-Homosexuality is largely discriminated against by the biggest religion in the world
-Hate crimes towards homosexuals aren't as recognized as hate crimes caused because of racism
-Largely (not everywhere), the idea of racism is seen is as dated whether the fight for gay rights is still current and on-going - even in areas where gay marriage is legal
That's just a few points. I tried to sound fair as racism still exists and isn't something to be downplayed, but I think homophobia is more active in today's society.
I agree. Homophobia hasn't gotten to the same area of public disgust that racism is. You can still get away with saying/spewing very ignorant things about the LGBTQ community, but flat-out bigotry is more shunned by the public.
I think that being gay is the most hard..especially in the black community..not saying that it's not hard in the white community but we as "Black Men" get it the worst...most black families just can't cope with one of their own being gay..
Are you ****ing kidding me? What is so bad about being black? The most DELUSIONAL question ever asked. Vin is just looking for a hit thread, a pathetic one that is.
Where in this thread was it said or even implied that it's bad being black? This is
a provocative question which will lead to a provocative discussion among
ATRL members. If you can't handle it, then simply leave.
Back in September I was called the n-word while walking down the street with my cousin. It's the second time it's happened in less than a year. The person (people) who said it was/were my age.
