Most Hoenn Pokemon are in B2/W2 already and every single one that isn't, including starters and legendaries, can be obtained in HG/SS. So you can still get every Hoenn Pokemon if you only have a DS.

And as far as new Pokemon games for the 3DS, they will make spin off games for the 3DS. But they will not make main series installments unless they completely forego remakes for this generation and get rid of their whole release system.

That must be why Nintendo never made Pokemon games for the Game Boy Color or Game Boy Advance.
Sis, come on.

But there's no reason, at all, to make a main series game for the 3DS only instead of all the DS models, including the 3DS.

to play a new generation game with better graphics and to make use of the 3DS streetpass
just cus you dont want it doesn't mean there's no reason to

Why would they continue to make games for an old handheld which is close to being obsolete?

But there's no sign the current generation is over with and they've never switched console, even in the same line, during a generation.

Except that the difference in graphics between the GBA and the original was far more noticeable than that between the 3DS and DS.

I don't get why this concept is going over his head.
3DS Exclusive Pokemon game = shitloads of 3DS sales.
Yeah, Nintendo's just going to NOT release their biggest selling handheld game for their newest handheld console.

Because it still works on the current model just as well, why do you think B2W2 was a DS game and not 3DS?

Not in this generation they're not, maybe they will if the 3DS is still they're current system in 2014 or 2015 when Gen VI starts.

What does that have to do with anything?
Nintendo cares about selling their systems. A 3DS exclusive Pokemon game = shitloads of 3DS sales. The 3DS is going to be their system for the next 4-5 years. You are the ONLY person on the planet who doesn't think that they'd put out a Pokemon game for it.

What makes you think they'll keep the same model for 5 years?

...Because it's NINTENDO. When have they NOT kept a handheld system around for 5-6 years?
Gameboy (Color)-> Gameboy Advance (SP, Micro) -> DS (Lite, i, i XL) -> 3DS (XL)...
Why are you having such a hard time with this? It's so basic.
The 3DS is not an "expansion" of the DS like the lite, or the i, or the XL. It is a separate system with separate games that happens to have backwards compatibility because all Nintendo systems do. They kept the name because they want to keep the brand, like they did with Gameboy. It is to the DS as the Gameboy Advance was to the Gameboy.

You're assuming, again, that all DS models before the 3DS are a totally separate line when they're not. If you wan to separate the 3DS, you have to make each individual revision of the DS separate as well, and each of those has lasted less than three years. If you want to make it part of the DS line then yeah, the DS line as a whole has lasted over 5 years, but then that invalidates the reason to make a 3DS exclusive game instead of one that supports all DS formats.

No you don't. All of those played DS games and only DS games. 3DS Games are sold in new boxes, with a different cartridge design.
3DS is to DS as Gameboy Advance is to Gameboy. Stop trying to justify your logic, this isn't an opinion. You are just flat out wrong.

The DS played GBA games though. And the rest only played DS games because the 3DS or a similar revision wasn't there yet, the only reason it plays its own games too is to boost sales, and that in itself is not going to override Game Freak's release pattern.
The 3DS has 3D. That's not half as big a jump as adding a touch screen in addition to a regular one.

Yes, just like the 3DS plays DS games because Nintendo makes their systems backwards compatible.
DS, DS Lite, DSi, DSi XL
3DS, 3DS XL
Two different lines of products.

All I want is for someone to tell me why 3D is a radical enough change to make it a totally separate line. Because I really don't see it as such.
