So many newcomers performers... 1D, Frank or whatever his name is ..besides its bad host... so many mistakes... but it was definitely better than 2010 VMA.

Uh, a bad host would still draw in more viewers than last year's non-existent host. And clearly the absence of the three main pop girls affected the ratings, stay pressed.

Yall have me screaming with the thought that Britney, Beyonce, and Gaga being there would have pulled in an extra 6+ MILLION viewers.

And chances are, if you like one of those girls a lot then you probably also like Rihanna, P!nk, or one of the other performers from last night and would have watched regardless. For example, did you, as a Gaga stan, watch last night? Even though your fave wasn't present?

Regardless of hype and different people attending, that is bound to affect numbers.

Friday-Sunday is eons better for the demographic. This is a huge event for music, they should milk it.

From what I hear, it was bland and boring - some people even fell asleep while watching it.
